The lovely Nalini Singh (http://www.nalinisingh.blogspot.com/) is hosting a contest to celebrate the upcoming release (2 September 2008) of the latest (fifth) book in the Psy-Changeling series: Hostage to Pleasure
What's up for grabs? The winner, chosen at random, will receive a US$75 gift certificate from the online bookstore of their choice :) What do you have to do to enter? (a) Post on your blog, LiveJournal, MySpace, Facebook or website etc. your answer to at least one of the following questions: * Which fictional hero (from books, TV, movies...) would you most like to hold hostage? * Which fictional hero would you most like to be held hostage by? * Which fictional world would you most like to be held hostage in? (b) Link back to Nalini's weblog & mention the contest (c) Post the cover of Hostage to Pleasure if possible; and (d) Leave a comment at Nalini's weblog with a link to where you've posted your entry (if, for some reason, you can't comment, email the details to nalinisinghwrites@gmail.com) *NOTE: If you're leaving a Myspace link, please leave a link to your profile - the direct links to the blogs aren't working. (e) Do all this before midnight September 5th, 2008, PST. So, on with the questions (and my answers :) * Which fictional hero (from books, tv, movies...) would you most like to hold hostage? No one. I should explain: I'm not the sort to hold anyone hostage, and I would hate for someone to be forced into enduring my company when they would rather be anywhere else. Volunteering to be held hostage by me is, however, entirely another matter :) * Which fictional hero would you most like to be held hostage by? This has ended up as a tie between Nalini Singh's Lucas and Hawke, CL Wilson's Gaelen vel Serranis, Patricia Briggs' Bran Cornick, JR Ward's Lassiter and Anne Bishop's Daemon Sadi. Yes, I know....I can't make a decision. But they are all just so....[insert appropriate word here] *grin* Amended to add Linda Howard's Zane Mackenzie.... :) * Which fictional world would you most like to be held hostage in? Unfortunately, this is also a tie: Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling version of Earth, Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar and CL Wilson's Fading Lands. I'm also incredibly tempted by Anne's Bishop's Black Jewel world. Amended to add: I think it would have to be the Psy-Changeling version of Earth (although I may be biased as I'm in the middle of reading Hostage to Pleasure :) orannia |
